Stop number 4 of the trip (and stop number 1 of the day on Sunday) was South Korea!
South Korea is the only place we stopped at twice. We got the vegan Korean BBQ both times and it was amazing. There weren't a lot of vegetarian options at the festival this year, so when we saw this one, we knew we had to try it. It ended up being one of my most favorite dishes of the whole festival.
Having not eaten meat, except for fish, for the past three years, I couldn't tell you if this tastes better than the meat version that they offered (Bulgogi BBQ). However, I do know that they did a REALLY good job with this dish. I don't know for sure which fake meat Disney used on this one, but I can assume it was Gardien. They used Gardien meatless crumbles in a dish at the Greece booth, and they've used Gardien products in the past. The consistency of the fake meat was just like that of the Gardien beefless tips, which I have had before. I'm not sure if they used the beef one for this, because they also have porkless tips, but whatever it was, it was very good. The flavor of the BBQ sauce was incredible. I assume the vegan Korean BBQ flavor was supposed to match that of the Bulgogi BBQ, because the dishes were nearly identical. Both dishes are served with steamed rice and cucumber kimchi. The cucumber kimchi was really cool and refreshing, perfect for cooling down the mouth after the spicy flavor of the BBQ!
South Korea also offered a roasted pork lettuce wrap with kimchi slaw, and then a good selection of drinks- Cing grapefruit sparkling rice brew (sounds interesting), myungjak bakbunja raspberry wine (which I feel like I tried with my mom a few years ago), and soju banana milkshake (which a lot of people tried and seemed to love).
Ean and I visited Epcot for just a few snacks on Sunday afternoon. We had spent the morning in Animal Kingdom and were saving our appetites for our anniversary dinner at Boma that night. We brought a few snacks with us to AK that morning, but wanted to slip a few festival bites in before that evening!
